unbelievably dull, best part was when cedric arrived, but did not redeem the rest of it.
i learned about this from a goodreads comment left on "bonjour tristesse" which mentioned this as being better. the review is incorrect.

In this sequel to The Pursuit of Love, the same narrator, Fanny, goes to stay with the family of her friend Polly. Polly's unbearable mother is constantly criticizing her and trying to marry her off, but Polly doesn't seem interested in the activities of a debutante. It finally comes out that Polly has a secret. Mitford has her usual good time skewering her acquaintances.
