Clare wants to relax like she normally does on Sundays, with a good book, but it seems cities all over the world are suddenly going quiet. They can't be contacted. Anyone who goes in never comes back out. No one knows what's going on. So she plans to bunker down with her sister and her aunt. But she never makes it. She has a car crash in a forest area. She wakes up in a stranger's mansion with a guy taking care of her.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the crazy winter weather! The atmosphere, the weather and the mansion were so well done. The first half of the book is slow but I was never bored. I was taken with what I was learning about the world, the setting, the creepy old house that's falling apart, the characters.

I really enjoyed the characters, Clare and Dorran. The plot is super cool and ended up being twisty and very creepy unlike how I thought it would be. The second half of the book really picked up the pace and I didn't want to put it down! know I haven't said much but at the same time I feel like if I say anything more it'll spoil things and I don't want to do that.

I don't have much to say about this one.  The monsters were neat but it wasn't especially interesting to me aside from that. The main characters were alright but I didn't especially care about them or their love story. I'll try the next book in the series though, mostly hoping for more of the horror part.

3.75

I’d say this is more like a 3.75. I really liked the book in general, but I hated the romance. I knew it was gonna happen, but there was literally no chemistry imo. And calling each other pet names immediately? Straight people are wild. I’m also not really sure how I felt about the ending. It was probably the least probable part of the book aside from the romance.
