I had heard of the the play Waiting for Godot for many years, but didn't understand its prescience and significance until I read [b:The Wind in the Reeds|24611830|The Wind in the Reeds|Wendell Pierce|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1434380209s/24611830.jpg|44222809] by Wendell Pierce (ironically, Megan Markle's father in Suits). I highly recommend reading this play after reading Pierce's book.

An absurdist play on hope and suffering. On difference and togetherness. A story that is perhaps made to be unrelatable, and yet will be relatable to anyone who reads it and allows their mind to wander in the meantime. Loved it.

"Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.
They do not move"

***

The quote basically sums up the play. Two men stuck in limbo, waiting for god(ot). Slowly losing their sanity as the seconds, minutes, and hours go by. Yet does Godot ever arrive, though?
