Start of what looks to be an enjoyable series. The characters are interesting and the universe the author has created is appealing. The book dragged in parts and could benefit from better editing. There are some surprises that really amp up the storytelling though the big reveal is pretty obvious much earlier to anyone paying attention. Some elements of the ending are vague and need a bit more detail. Overall an enjoyable read.
