I would be absolutely shocked if I EVER find a poem collection that more plainly encapsulates and presents what it's like to be alive.

some of poetry was really pretty and thought provoking, but i definitely am glad that it was free on kindle and didn't have to buy it. am i glad i read it? i would have been fine without it. i don't feel it positively or negatively affected me.. so i guess not the best kind of rating

I was warned beforehand that this book was simply tumblr poetry. That being said, I've seen some decent poetry there. This collection however does seems like sentences separated into random lines. Some sound like they were ripped from cheesy romance novels.

I do appreciate the format of the book. However, the first half deals with very traumatic experiences. The subject matter doesn't scare me off because I've had some of those feelings myself, but the poems seem to be disingenuous. They don't invoke any feeling in me. They seem to be more for shock value than honesty.

If you're looking for a quick read and like poetry, I'm sure this book would be fine. I did not enjoy but I didn't actively dislike it. It's just there.

this book is literally so good. i genuinely like it so much. i get why people dont like it cause sometimes it's like "i was music but you had your ears cut off." but the argument that its not real poetry is so stupid like ??? what are you gonna force her to rhyme?? poetry is literally such a broad category
and i seriously do think its good
some quotes that are decidedly better than the ears one :

"it means nothing to me if he loves you if he cant do a single wretched thing about it"
"there is a difference between someone telling you they love you and actually loving you"
"the letting go has become the forgetting which is the most pleasant and saddest thing to have happened."
"you have to stop searching for why at some point you have to leave it alone"
"how you love yourself is how you teach others to love you"

I preferred the sun and her flowers. Maybe because it was longer?
