When I saw how thick the book was in the library, I wanted to faint but I told myself that it wasn't as bad as Donna Tartt's Goldfinch. Anyway, I managed to read this book in less than 2 days.

Moving on, oh wow, this book left me overwhelmed. Mind me, I didn't managed to read the first book in the series so I dived straight into this. I was abit lost in the beginning but thankfully there were some recounts on what happened in the previous book.

Let me first say that I hated Reeve initially. (But don't we all?) He was a conceited, self-absorbed poopyface. I hate what he did to Mary. However, the further I am in the book, the opposite my feelings went (Did that make sense) I don't know about you guys but I actually started to fall in love with Reeve just like.....(insert smirk face). But the more I fall for Reeve, the more annoying I found Mary to be. Like okay, calm down.

THAT PLOT TWIST THO. I just yelled "WHAT. WHAT". Omg. It just left me so befuddled. I got the Ashes to Ashes in hand. Super stoked to start it now! Wish me luck.

this was shockingly better than the first in the series. the pacing was good and i was a lot more invested in the plot. maybe it's just because i feel more attached to the characters, but i really enjoyed it.
also holy shit?? this ending was INSANE. i wasn't expecting any of it, i'm losing my mind.

So good! A huge step up from Burn for Burn. I can't wait for September so I can get my hands on Ashes to Ashes! This is shaping up to be one of my favourite trilogies with one of my biggest ships! 5 stars.

Holy. Shit.
Um. Well, if anything, I can say that for the first time ever, I'm glad that I am not pretty or rich or live on an island, because wow.

The really abrupt Carrie-esque switch into the supernatural at the end of the first book really starts to pick up in this book... And then explodes at the end. I hate the anxiety that this series gives me with one bad action after another ㅠ ㅠ Yet I have to say, there's an infuriating addictiveness to it...

Lillia, who was easily my favorite character from the first book, gave me a very maternal anxiety as she went further and further into what has to be an ultimately ill-fated romance with Reeve, who is so despicable and lovable (the book series in human form maybe).

And Mary. ; v ; Wha- I still can't fully comprehend what happened, but she is apparently a tragically murderous ghost with the face of a sixteen year old that only Lillia and Kat can see??

Can someone please just make poor Alex happy in the third book? ; v ;

Haven’t finished yet, but so far it’s good, picks up well with the story for a sequel but there are bits that are sprinkled d through that do not link up with the rest of the story so far and I’m almost done. And they are so sprinkled that you almost forget about them once you get to that thread again.

Maybe they come into play in the third book?

Ok the end got super weird…. Not where I thought it would go and not to my personal liking. Doubt I’ll read the third book…
