Несмотря на такое яркое название, книга вполне серьёзная и заигрывание с потенциальным читателем дальше названия не идут. Автор структурирует систему представлений о магии и магических ритуалов в античной Греции и Риме, приводит множество цитат и подкрепляет информацию ссылками на источники. Все по делу, познавательно и очень интересно!

I really loved this book. Instead of being a dry overview of ancient rituals, Matyszak has a dry witty way of describing the beliefs of the Greeks and Romans. Definitely recommend !

This book was perfect for the research I needed on magic and superstition in Ancient Greece. Also covers aspects of Divination, Astrology, Love Potions, Curses and more.
It was very well done and easy to understand, but not patronisingly so; it was even done with a bit of humour along the way. Great research experience.

I really enjoyed this book. The chapters and sections have interesting information but aren't too long and boring with to many details. Really good introduction to some new aspects that I didn't know about yet!
