This is my favorite of the series so far, I think because the author delves into the nuances of the MC’ trauma and connection a bit more. The reason they are fated mates is addressed. Some disability representation in the FMC’s illness. And there is plenty of hotness. Interesting that the fate of the MMC’s former lover was not part of the wrap up. I may take a break from the series now as they are feeling a bit repetitive.

THESE BOOKS ARE SO CUUUUTE. This one actually got me a little teary eyed in a few spots - cancer's a bitch. But I also think I caught myself laughing more in this one too. I really loved both the fmc & mmc, I loved the story, I loved the hardship (well, not 'loved' like I was happy about it but 'loved' as in it made me feel the feels), & I loved how it concluded. The only thing I maybe didn't love was her calling him "honey" periodically, haha - seemed out of place/weird & random to me. But overall a super great read.

This was just as cute as the previous romances in the series but with more tension in this around Cecilia’s cancer and Rixavox’s loss of his family and brother. The premise is that after Cecilia and the other women abducted from earth are rescued by the Luxirians, Cecilia finds out that her cancer has returned. Fortunately, the Luxirians have more sophisticated treatments than they do on earth and in the course of treatment she meets Rixavox, her fated mate.
You can sort of tell that this work precedes the author’s more recent Horde Kings of Dakkar series- it’s more basic even though it’s still incredibly entertaining. I admit I was skeptical the entire time when Rixavox and Cecilia were tight with his former lover who had a million reasons to be bitter. The resolution outlined in the epilogue may be problematic or triggering for some who are dealing with infertility- that’s definitely a content warning to be wary about if that’s you.
