Britt's story in the Sterling shore series

I have been impatiently waiting for this book as i loved Britt from previous books in this series and it didn't disappoint.Britt is so endearing and brutaly honest that i cried at parts and laughed at others. After getting little teasers about Base in previous books it was fantastic to get to hear his story and i was snorting like a pig towards the end as CM Owens puts her humourous stamp on the big event towards the end. If i could give this book a 10* rating i would because it's that good.

This is the second time I finish this books series and I’m happy I did it again! I love C.M. Owens books and the characters she builds. As for Britt’s story I was not disappointed. I love Base and his need to be a hero. I liked how he believed in Britt and how he fought for her. These two are cute, funny and I don’t regret reading this book the second time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for these two and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for the whole books series! I love it!

I laughed so hard while reading in bed last night my husband kicked me out of bed. I do love nerdy Britt. She is awkward. She is naive. She is socially challenged. With all of her challenges, her biggest challenge is loosing her virginity. It might be partially because she keeps talking about breaking her hymen. There is even a blog. Can you get more nerdy???

Base has been working hard to make it in the music business. He fails at every turn. He also refuses help from his cousin Tag. The minute he stares into Britt's eyes he has found his muse. He just moves in to her guest room and it just gets weirder from there. Challenges at every turn. Walls to knock down. Walls to build.

Britt's lack of filter had my mouth dropping. Britt's unique way of behavior had me rolling on the floor. Base's escapades had me giggling, snickering and reading faster to find the next disaster.

Why the hell did I think it would be a good idea to start a series on the last book?

Was this readable as a standalone? Kinda.

I was able to get the gist of the last 11 instalments, as well as the family dynamic of the Sterlings. With that being said, all the couples in the series make an appearance and NOT in a brief cameo type of way. No, more like ‘integral part of the story’ side characters. This wouldn’t be a big deal if there wasn’t like 20 of them!

So, all that aside (which is, frankly, my own fault for reading the series out of order) the book is pretty good! I liked the “she overthinks with her brain and he overthinks with his heart” dynamic! It’s pretty rare, but is done really well here! I also love a good rockstar romance which this KINDA is.

I might change my star rating after reading through the rest of the series (in order this time

Talking nerdy

I knew going into this book that Britt was going to be a different character than what we are accustomed to from our Sterling Shore family; she is logical, brilliant, and oh so nerdy. However, there were moments when I seriously wanted to smack her senseless because she was using her brilliance as a way to keep distance from Base which makes since but it just keep happening over and over and over again. The family coddled her way too much they should be as brutally honest with her as she is with everything and let her have it at some parts of the story. With all that being said though this was a great read. Base Masters makes this book, without him it would have annoyed me to no end. It’s ok to be a genius, a nerd, but why do they all have to be so cynical and too logical that they can’t enjoy anything in life. Ok sorry it bothered me a little bit but overall I loved this story and can’t wait for the epilogues to see what the heck is Raya up to.

CM did amazing with Britt and base’s story. I loved how accepting they were of each other’s weirdness. I loved seeing Britt who generally wasn’t emotional show emotion (even if it made me cry). Reading how love snuck up on these two was amazing. I’m so sad that this series is coming to an end but I love that it finished off with Britt and base before the wedding game.
