Solid book 2. I liked the steadiness of Mira's character. She may have a hard time making decisions but her moral compass is never in question.

Mira was not a relatable character. I read the first book months ago and forgot most of the characters. The plot was meh.

I am loving this series so much! I cannot wait to read the last one. I need to know all the things. I just love the dragons. Mira is so awesome and I love Aruo.

This book broke my heart. I cannot get enough of this universe and the ending was devastating. I cannot wait to start the final book in the trilogy.

Don't take my slow reading pace on this as indicative of anything. I really don't know why it took me so long, aside from the fact that I would prefer to read a book this size in e-book so that I don't have to drag it around.

I would be curious to hear people's feedback on how this book handles the results of colonialism. It's definitely not shying away from it, and it looks good to me, but I'm a white woman, and I'm far from an expert.

I'm so grateful that Mira wasn't miraculously cured of her anxiety at the end of the first book. That would've made me quite angry.

This wasn't too interesting, although it was definitely better than the first installment.
