This was a light, steamy read. There is not much in the way of angst or trauma, any conflict is resolved really quickly, so it makes for an anxiety-free read.

Shelby, the FMC, is an independent, curvy, business owner. Grayson is the MMC, a gargoyle who is instantly infatuated with Shelby. Their dynamic is typical for this genre - she’s fiercely independent; he’s overprotective with light servings of touch-her-and-die and who-did-this-to-you.

At a few places the plot was rushed. She’s mad at him and then two paragraphs later, all is forgiven without any real character or plot development. That kind of thing.

The seggs scenes are made slightly more interesting by the addition of a well-utilized tail. 😉 Some of the moments were really hot and some didn’t land for me. Not sure why. 🌶️🌶️

Other than the curvy FMC, there is not much in the way of diverse representation in this book.

Overall, a light enjoyable read, but it didn’t rock my world.
