I loved this! It’s a lovely tribute to Pride and Prejudice and the burlesque life. This might be the one to beat for me in favorite books of 2022.

Be still, my beating heart! I’m such a slut for P&P retellings, and this may just take the cake! A burlesque club was a genius upgrade, and I loved the changes made to the original.
Jane and Charles! Kitten and Darcy!

As a romance reader, I'm supposed to love Pride and Prejudice - the quintessential romance novel, but I just don't. The main characters spend too much time apart and the book ends as soon as they get together. Considering that, I wasn't sure I would like this even though it was highly recommended. No worries, I thought it was delightful and I enjoyed seeing the classic characters and plot fit into the NYC burlesque scene (although I'm pretty sure the ending with Wickham was changed).

It was a good, refreshing, modern retelling of P&P. It was so funny, smart, entertaining, something really different from all the retellings of JA's book that I've ever read with a new portrayal of all the original characters. Bennet and Darcy's banter was so enjoyable to follow.

This was a fun pride and prejudice retelling that takes place in a burlesque club! The tension and romance between Bennet and Darcy was wonderful and the cast of characters were a delight. Just like the classic there was all the drama and it was fun seeing it through a modern setting.
