taylor jenkins reid's books always flow with a simplicity that i love so much!

as much as i loved the side characters during the riva family party, the switching of perspectives to them just really annoyed me... i need more content of the riva siblings!!!!

What can I say except for masterfully written? The perfect amount of drama, with the perfect amount of emotional depth. Intriguing from dtart to finish.
I want more.

The way Taylor Jenkins Reid writes is out of this world. This is the third book I have read of hers and I love how the format for each one is completely different.

On Malibu Rising we are introduced to the Rivas siblings, Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit. They are the children of Mick Riva, who we previously met on The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

I love how the book focused on the siblings and we get to know their personalities. The story is told in a 24 hour period starting before the annual end of the summer Riva party with flashbacks and multiple POV. At one point, towards the end, it was too much but overall wow great job juggling so many POV and getting across the story, personality and voice of each one.

I liked the concept of telling the story in 24 hours and that the first half also had flashbacks to the past and you could see how their personalities were forming.

But in the end of the book to many POV and I could hardly keep track of who was who. I just wanted to know about the Rivas.
