This essay is told in a satirical voice which is "refusing to respect" silly ideas, and sometimes the person(s) who propagates silly ideas. An intelligent way to ridicule people.
When growing up and learning about Africa everything that is mentioned in this article is what we were taught. We normally took what was said about Africa at bay and never questioned it. This is all I heard during the time I was in junior high and high school painting it a place that you would never want to visit. This is a very good example not to believe everything you hear.

A quick satirical story that is just brilliant in exploring the ironies, contradictions and blatant hypocrisy in some of the literature approaching the African continent. Easy and quick to read, funny and just filled with truth despite the satirical tone. It's easily found online, and everyone should read!
