Unbelievably good.

I don't state that lightly, this had flaws but none of the flaws could have taken away the rating I gave this.

Carly, a young woman in her first year away from her abusive father, gets paired into a dorm with a older student; Allison. She's everything Carly wants to be, and Carly is protective.

Scarlett, a English professor with a hidden motive, she's a murderer. Not just anyone however, men who deserve it.

I loved the LGBTQAI+ representation, and it wasn't portrayed as taboo like some books do it. The characters were unique, I especially loved Mikayla and Wes, both well written background/side characters with bigger roles near the ending.

I did not expect that twist half way through and i am honestly so surprised, it's so different.

i really liked the first half or so, but once we got to the big twist it all seemed to take a downturn & i didn't even care how it ended. enjoyable & fast-paced but nothing too special.

What a masterpiece! I've been meaning to read this one for a while now, but I'm happy I waited until I was really in the mood for a good thriller/mystery. From the beginning to the end, I was captivated and I cannot wait to add this to my physical library.

This book just had the "Cell Block Tango" lyrics playing on repeat in my head and I fucking loved every second.

I was hoping for more insights and nuance but the fast pace and amazing plot twists just had me eating this up!

Dr Scarlett Clark, English professor & serial killer. Every year, Scarlett kills the worst man on campus at Gorman University & makes it look like an accident or suicide. With her attention to detail, she's gotten away with several murders, but when something goes wrong with her latest target, Scarlett finds the cops in charge of the investigation closing in.

Meanwhile, Carly Schiller has just arrived at Gorman for her first year. Withdrawn & isolated, Carly is taken under the wing of her more gregarious roommate, Allison. Carly quickly becomes enthralled & when Allison is sexually assaulted at a party, Carly decides to make the perpetrator pay.

This is a fast-paced read with an ice-cold killer at the heart of it all. Scarlett never wavers in her belief that she's right to deal out her brand of justice to these men. Makes her an interesting character but I would have liked to have seen some introspection as I got the impression that Scarlett's sense of justice was rather self-serving at times.

The second storyline involving Carly & Allison evolves just about how you would expect. Overall it's a gripping read &, yeah we know murder is wrong, but it's kind of satisfying to see some real creeps pay. Even if it's only fictionally.
