Olivia Dade is one of the few authors that has plus size main characters in her books, and not just “curvy” but actually plus size. As a plus size woman myself it really makes me feel seen and wanted.

Ship Wrecked follows Maria and Peter co-stars on the show Gods of the Gates, who are BOTH plus size

Olivia Dade... does it again! I have loved all of her works, and this one is no different. Amazingly great and relatable writing that draws you in and has you falling love with all the characters. Her ability to also tie together her previous books from the series is awesome! Ship Wrecked was a wonderful story following lover to friends to best friends back to lovers over the course of several years and it is just so well written, it feels real! The romantic tension and spice levels were perfect for this story as well.

There's just something missing from this. The other books in the series had their faults, but there was more spark to them. While this couple seemed believable, they also seemed boring and the interstitials were lackluster. The humor was completely charmless and I found myself hoping it would end soon. This came very close to being a one star.

Agree with other reviewers that the pacing wasn't great in this one. And while the spice was well-written, I wanted more spicy scenes. I continue to enjoy Olivia Dade's representation of body types, neurodivergence, trauma, etc.

The final book in the Spoiler Alert trilogy was a satisfying conclusion to a delightful series. At turns funny and heart-wrenching, the characterization in this book and intimate moments (not just sexy ones) are artfully portrayed. I loved the explicit body positive moments and conversations, as well as the deep and enduring love the characters have for each other and their amusing friend group. Maria is the first Swedish character I've read, and it gave the book an interesting perspective and global feel not often found in contemporary romance. I highly recommend every book in this series, but also think it will be most enjoyed starting with book one, since the time lines overlap a little bit.

*Did not Finish*

I really, really, really wanted to like this book. I love Oliva Dade's book and All the Feels was incredible. It had all the makings of a great book, but it felt lack luster. I wanted to see Peter and Maria's relationship grow over the time they spent together, but it didn't. I unfortunately wasn't able to finish it because I felt that the conclusion was already made. They got together after it wrapped. The main draw of the book was the slow burn after the flash burn of their first meeting. I love Olivia Dade and I'll keep reading here, but unfortunately this book just wasn't it.

This was a really good book. I absolutely loved the body positivity and confidence the main character Maria exhibits. Maria is from Sweden and Peter is living in LA. They hookup and he wakes up to Maria gone, without a note. What are the chances they will meet again? Well they do in an audition for a TV show. They both land the roles they audition for and spend years working together. Peter is so enduring and awkward. Maria is confident and caring. They compliment each other perfect.
*thank you to NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

After reading this series, I am just not sure I am that into books that integrate fan fic/AO3 bs into the narrative. Perhaps it is the tone... I'm not sure but I liked the MCs, out of the three books, the most but a lot of the "goofy" things took me out of the narrative. Cringe, if you will.
