Very cute story.. we all could’ve guessed the end of course, but that’s not always the point! I love the romance books that make me laugh and make me love the characters. I loved the authors writing style & love seeing brown representation in literature. This was not my last by this author.

I really really lived this book. Up until Max broke up with her. It was a few chapters away from he end and that fight felt rushed! You're telling me he knows it's just and insecurity and he's about to confess his love to Lina and his brother being there changes his mind?? Even though he openly admits it's just insecurity?? This could have been a 5 star. Really. He caused her to break down and all he has to say is that it was just his insecurities getting in the way? Are you for real!! We KNOW it's insecurities because you've been saying it throughout the book. And then she like makes it up to him? Barely upset? Queen why are you acting like it didn't break you???? Omp. This could have been my favorite book. I don't have the heart to give it a 3 star because I loved like 5/6 of the book but that 1/6 breaks me. Honest to God I'm upset right now.

Didn’t like the switch from “I love her, and not because I’m competing with my brother” to “I think I only want to be with her because of my brother and therefore be second choice again” for the break up at the end before the hea annoying.

that thing in which they talk about their exes as “safe” and “reliable”, and that now their world feels scary, new and wild and basically imploding with color and emotions just really does it for me
