One of those "classics" that has been on my to-read list since library school. I now understand why teens devour it … I did in one sitting. It is easy to get immersed in the girl’s life, to feel her pain as she spirals in her addiction and feel her triumph when she succeeds. While the epilogue is a real downer – and very abrupt – it is more true-to-life since so many teens die as a result of drug use & abuse.

Just didn't think the story or writing was that realistic. Got pretty bored with it after a while

I really liked this book until I found out that there was actually an author for this book. That's so disrespectful to first of all LIE about literally every thing in the book and secondly fabricate this stupid story to manipulate teenagers into not doing drugs. There's other ways to do that. I feel betrayed and very angry. How dare you, you LIEDDDDD. No longer worth the read.

I read this for all the "wrong" reasons as a middle-schooler. Can't say it didn't satisfy though.
