Didn't like the first one, don't know why I bought this one. The first ~170 pages were incredibly boring, basically nothing happened.
Our main character is oblivious to everything.
Was very boring.
It has a plot point futher discussing SA which was done very tastefully imo, for that I give 2 stars.
In the beginning the banter wasn't as cringe-worthy as it was in the first book, so that was a plus.
Temper continues to be the embodiment of the stereotype of the black best friend which is so incredibly damaging.

“I would steal the stars from the sky for you”

A fun, fast paced sequel to the first book. If you like books like A Court of Thorns and Roses and sequels, this might definitely be your thing as well. It's nothing new and/or refreshing but it's really entertaining. Do wish there was more minor character development though.

The story got really exciting towards the end and I can't wait to find out how everything's going to go down in the conclusion book.

Hated this book so much. Just the same thing over and over. There is just no chemistry between Des and Callie. It is a shame because the overall plot should be interesting but I just feel annoyed reading this book. So glad it is over.

A lot of fun elements. A little too much white savior complex.

This wasn’t great. Callie is very annoying the whole book I found. And her and Des literally never have one genuine conversation. Like so much of the ‘conflict’ of this book could be solved with them just talking to each other. The ending was predictable. And I’m not sure if the next book will get any better. (I’ve heard it gets worse). Whoever told me this was like acotar needs to give me back my time.

I enjoyed the book a lot. It was great to experience the Otherworld. Unfortunately the good stuff and the mystery really didn't happen till the very end. I'm still invested in the story and will read the next book though.
