The story and text are cute, but the illustrations didn't always match up. In the "Happier" page, they show the boy's dog looking very sad while getting nabbed by the dog catcher. Not a happy sight. A lot of the dogs looked downright mean, even on pages that were supposed to be praising dogs. Also, if this book is about praising a dog and sometimes laughing at the naughty things they do, why have the nobody's scarier page? It didn't seem to fit with the theme of the story.
