This is a cute option for early chapter book readers--especially late kindergarten early 1st grade. It is told from the point of view of the dog, which means that clues to the mystery are often shown/solved before the humans can figure it out because King can't communicate with them easily. Librarians will like having this one on the shelves for additional reinforcement of searching for lost books :)
