This was a fun one. We see a 16 year old Dinah Lance take on the Court of Owls after the Silencing and the fall of all heroes. This is a book about feminism and equality. It gave me a lot of Handmaid's Tale vibes!

However, the reason it's not getting 5 stars from me is that it's a bit slow. There's a lot of chapters of Dinah dreaming for a better world. It takes half the book for anything thrilling to occur that points towards the characters taking action against the Court. Also, the Oliver Queen in this book spent like a month on the island and suddenly is an amazing shooter--so much of his character comes from his time on the island and I feel like this book treated his time there like summer camp. —low key I don’t think Dinah needed a man...

I'm also in disbelief that a 16 year old , barely trained in comparison, could defeat the Court but Batman and a bunch of other heroes couldn't. this book left me with a lot of questions about the past that I would love to see explored--like how was Barbara Gordon (Oracle) the only hero to survive.

Despite trying to finish this yesterday to not slow down my aug Tbr, this was such a great n empowering book.

The romance in this DC ICONS novel really had me by the throat. It added so much to the story line

Oliver & Dinah >>>>

Feminist Book for sure

I really enjoyed this one, but the ending was just too quick and too sudden. Like I'm seeing I have all these pages and I'm like what? Then realize it's just the first chapter of the Selina Kyle book. (Already read it thanks, didn't need it.)

3⭐ - it was enjoyable

Like, it was better than Batman or Superman....
But I expected this to be my favorite next to Catwoman....
It was a bit boring, and Dinah was so young...
I do like her "powers", but they felt a bit underwhelmed in this book....
But it wasn't too bad honestly.
My friend who's big into music and loves singing and song writing, would have enjoyed this more I'm sure

Unexpected! I didn't foresee when this book would take place. I'm not a big DC person, so I loved seeing characters from the Arrowverse appear!

Concept is decent. But logic is iffy and far too much tell and not show
