I stand strongly in the opinion that a book does not have to be of high quality to be “good”. I realize, of course, that the literal definition of good is “having the qualities required for a particular role”, which could very well entail stylistic yet composed prose, consistent and likable characterization, and an impressive plotline. However, as a fan of “fake deep” works, I herald resonance, relatability, and the feeling of being seen and understood above all. If this were not the case, it’s highly unlikely that I’d still call Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira my favorite book (no offense, Ms. Author of My Favorite Book). (4 stars.) Eveyone's lives could have ended up an infinite number of ways

The Midnight Library, a place between life and death, the place of infinite lifes based one's regrets.
I enjoyed this literary journey (one can definitely call it that), it was very fast-paced and easy. However, I feel it maintained a consistent intensity from the beginning until the end.
In the final chapters, it became obvious that the book maintained a consistent tone over a span of 200 pages with not that many "wow" factors in-between.

Despite this, the narrative evokes many thoughts, prompting me to wonder on my own hypothetical book of regrets.

This was like a secular "It's a Wonderful Life" and that's not a good thing. Nora's journey is meant to be one of recovery from depression (Mrs. Elm engages in some CBT like dialogue), but it fails to show the difficulties that come with using self-compassion and challenging core beliefs that perpetuate depression.

Nora was a bit of a wet blanket. The 180 from suicidal to loving life felt a bit quick at the end

this book grew on me, until it had me ready to fight Nora for not realising, and then understand, and then

predictable.

"Regret". This word. Man. *smh*

We have all been through a lot in this life. Decisions. Paths. Choices. And we regretted a lot of them. My regrets grew like crazy when I had to take the most painful decision recently.

"But it is not lives we regret not living that are the real problem. It is the regret itself."

This book shattered my thought process of "Regretting" something or "Regretting" a path which I did not choose. It basically shows how much value our choices carry even though they were bad ones.

I loved the way the author has brought up Selp Help into this fiction based novel. He gave me a different perspective to look at and I'm grateful that I picked this book at the right time in my life when I was feeling completely lost and dejected for the choices I've made.

Overall its a breathtakingly beautiful book and a must read.

It’s alright. The message is good but it was a little weird how Nora interrogated Molly for all the info in that life…
