I had to read a lot over again, because every page was rich with meaning and purpose. What a wonderful read!

I really enjoyed Lamya H’s deft weaving of memoir with stories from scripture and their own understanding of the characters therein. I found I related to a lot of it, despite being of a different generation, faith tradition, and national origin. This was a really good read!

Beautifully written, introspective, and insightful. The author says that this book is "for anyone who seeks to be thoughtful about how they live." Well worth a read.

A well written memoir of growing up an outsider even before moving to the US. The author shares her love for the Quran and weaves her stories in with stories from there.

It was interesting to hear a very different life story from my own, and I really liked how she pushed back on the omissions of the womens' perspectives of the biblical stories.
