Very relatable and quite hilarious! One exact scenario happened to me! Definitely recommend for any GP who wants to have a good laugh

I went into this expecting a bunch of funny patient encounters. What I found was a much more well rounded book. This gives a unique view of the NHS and the people who access it, from someone on the front line. Some of the passages made me want to rip them out, photocopy them & shove them into the face of half the people clogging up the waiting room of my local GP's surgery.

not my usual choice of book but I fancied something light hearted. at times it was funny but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would have. it was a shame but also makes you feel a little bit less of an inconvenience when you do go to the dr when you're ill!

While parts of this book were amusing and interesting, there is no getting away from how judgmental and unprofessional this dr is. Some of the comments he makes are cringey and some are just plain offensive and rude. I wanted to like it, much like I enjoyed this is going to hurt, but in all honesty it’s a terrible knock of version and not even half as amusing. His comments and distasteful jokes really ruined it for me, 1*

I did not like this book. My main issue was that it's really terribly written. I didn't expect award-winning prose, but the writing is choppy and inconsistent, the attempts at humour all fall flat and there is literally no theme, recurrent storyline or even an ATTEMPT to sort the jumbled mess of stories. Secondly, I don't like the writer as a person. He comes off as arrogant and bigoted, and that's not what I want to read from a GP -- or at all, really. So, I don't think this was worth the read at all.
