An infamous book series about the gory bits in history, Terry Deary's Horrible Histories series is a great way to get kids interested in history. This Victorians-based book in the series is just as vile as the title suggests. And what horrible histories it contains.

I mainly read this for my server's book bingo but the Horrible Histories books always delight me. I enjoy how they are written in an easy to understand way while also being engaging. There are some quizzes involved as well as some blocks of texts but it doesn't feel like reading a textbook. They also are very readable for adults as they aren't immature as it's just history! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn some more tidbits of history especially as the facts are quite interesting.
