It's been awhile since I finished a book in one day, let alone decided not to so anything else all day while I read this book.

I have never read anything by the author before but I was very excited to see she is a Wisconsinite! I love reading books that capture the Midwest culture and this book was also food fetishist's dream.

I really emotionally connected with this book. I don't think everyone will but man Gina's life could be mine in 10 or so years. My biggest fear is losing my husband and so reading a book about loss and how we choose to deal with it is great but emotional. Gina's love for Drew though, man that is how I feel about my husband. I love books that draw out emotional responses. I loved the characters in this book.

My only complaint was that sometimes the dialogue felt subpar. It wasn't always that way but it just felt a little stiff sometimes or not explained as well as I would've liked but everything else was excellent.

I giving this 5 stars because it was really good and I cried and laughed a lot. I would recommend it to anyone and think it's a honest and real display of how we deal with grief. It's a heartwarming, emotional tale that will make you cherish your family a little more.

This was such fun read, even if it made me crave grilled cheese.

Gina is still mourning the loss of her husband, but she is making ends meet and trying to connect with her daughter, May. Early in the book, Lorraine, Gina's mother has a medical emergency and Gina, May and Gina's sister Vicky have to come together to help Lorraine and maybe put some pieces together as to why Lorraine has become the woman she has without her help. I may have completely confused you by this synopsis, but really there are sister relationships, mother daughter relationships and maybe a big discovery as to the things that happen to you in your past will define your future.

Oh man did I love this book!!! All of her books make me SO HUNGRY though, this one had me in a grilled cheese food truck daily and made me JONES for a good grilled cheese. Loved all the main characters, even the crazy grumpy mom, who realizes a little too late that she should tell her kids her truth & how proud she is of them.

Simple read. No need to read again, it all ties up with a nice bow at the end and a happy ending but it does bring up how we need to healthily address loss and generational trauma.

If you haven’t read Amy Reichart you should start now. This is her fourth book and I have loved them all! Her first, Coincidence of a Coconut Cake has been my favorite, but this might have edged it out! This one is all about the relationships we have with our family, complicated as usual.

Gina is the main character and she spoke to me right away. She is the owner of a food truck and trying to reconnect to her daughter after they have a tragic loss. Gina also finds herself connecting to her sister and mother in this book, and of course there is a big family secret. This book brought tears to my eyes, made me happy inside and really made me feel all of the feels.

Oh...and this Wisconsin girl loves that it takes place in Wisconsin and incorporates cheese and a mention of the Brewers. Well done!

Read this. Right now. And then read her other books!

- Reichert has written another lovely story. This one was different from her other books. It wasn't the warm and tender romance, but it was still a heart warming story full of love.

- I love how the author incorporates food into her books. She makes common foods sound SO amazing! I want brownies and grilled cheese!

- I liked that Reichert wrote something a little different. It was mostly sad, but it ended on a happy and hopeful note.

- I loved how each section had a chapter from each character. I liked getting the different generations' perspective. I also liked the flashbacks from Lorraine and Gina.

- I loved Lorraine's and Gina's stories. I love how they met their husbands and how similar their stories were.

- This is one of those stories that become the go to cozy books.

- I'm so glad I discovered this author last year, and I hope she keeps writing!
