This is a better book in the McEvoy series than The Poet, with a twisty plot, and credibily scary examination of how vulnerable online presence makes everyone to evildoers. One star off for not being as strongly written and engaging as Connelly's Haller and Bosch books, for a reliance on racist stereotypes for Black characters and their neighborhood, and for leaving the story about how Jack betrayed Rachel off stage in the period between this book and the next. Something as important as that to the overall character arc should occur on the page.

It was generally good but also just a little bit too flat. It didn’t have my heart racing and the ending was rather meh

In the interview with the author he says he hopes to write more about Rachel. Maybe one from her POV? That would be cool.
