"You're a tiny bit damaged every time you unravel another murder case."

"The Bat" by Jo Nesbo follows investigator Harry Hole who is sent to Sydney Australia to investigate the murder of a Norwegian woman but soon finds out with help this isn't an isolated case.

I would give "The Bat" by Jo Nesbo a 4-star review because, the plot was intriguing and I was surprised at times, the MC Harry Hole was such an interesting character who I enjoyed, and the author did a great job at writing this one.

The plot ccasionally feels a little messy and convoluted but overall very enjoyable reading experience.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. My only complaint is that I wish the killer reveal might have been a bit more surprising. There were only a handful of characters to choose from. Other than that I found the novel to be mildly graphic and interesting. I really enjoy a flawed protagonist.

I have heard that this is one of the weakest in the series, so I am excited to read more. If you have read “Casino Royale” and enjoyed it. I would recommend this novel in particular.

This is my first time reading this author. And now he is my favorite author. His books are interesting yet make you not want to put the book down.
