- so cuteee
- ari's dad at the end being like "ur gay." is so funny
- liked ari and dante's dynamic
- shows the difficulties if growing up really well
- very much "i hate everyone but you" vibes

if i read this in high school it would have launched me out of the closet faster than one of those human-sized cannons they used at old-timey unethical carnivals. like:

“I want to say something to you, Ari.” “Okay,” I said. And then he didn’t say anything. “What?” I said. “Never mind,” he said. “It doesn’t matter.” I thought it probably mattered a lot. “Okay,” I said.

are you kidding me? it’s perfect.

A coming of age story set in the late 80s, of two teenage boys finding each other in the tumult of adolescence and high school. It was hard to put down, and the story was well-told. Some angsty teenage cliches, but overall a good read.
