A wonderful sequel that was an exciting continuation of the first book! Loved the new characters we met.

Hit and miss

This one took a while. It was a bit hit and miss for me. I didn’t mind the relationship so much, always up for some devoted main characters and I enjoyed the different POVs - got to know some of the characters more and I absolutely loved Eli!! But some of it did drag on for me. A lot happened, but even more was talked about, the storyline and the plot was good, I just wanted it to go faster. This is a personal preference, I am still excited to see what happens next.

I am actually astounded over how phenomenal this book was. The world building, again, was fantastic. The characters were great and I loved getting new POVs outside of just Elara’s. The way Imani handled the introduction of new, complex characters also don’t AMAZINGLY. Truly an insanely good book that deserves far more hype.

I have seen people say it reminds them of ______ authors. And I just don’t get that. Sjm did not invent stars

This world is incredibly rich and immersive. The characters have continued strong development and there are hints of even more of that to come in subsequent books.

The found family aspect of this book is my favorite part about this series. The bond the characters form and their deep love and respect for one another is such a joy to read.

While it started quite slow and frustrating, the ending does make it worth it.
