Not sure why it says I read this twice. Once was plenty. Forced myself to finish it to find out who did it. The idea of the book, lawyer defends husband of murdering his mistress- grabbed me. But the plot became annoying at times, and a bit unrealistic. Worth finishing if you pick it up, but best to choose a different book.

Maybe this kind of thriller isn’t my thing. I enjoyed the ride generally, but I didn’t quite feel the urgency, it felt a little slower than I anticipated.

Sometimes the characters made…interesting choices.

It’s a kind of case of everyone sucks here to be honest. I didn’t quite find the ending satisfying? I don’t know there’s something I can’t quite put my finger on that made me feel like the ending wasn’t deserved but that might just be my personal bias against capital punishment.

I enjoyed it generally but also felt like it dragged in places. I liked the premise and a good whodunnit but I didn’t feel particularly invested at the end which might be why I wasn’t crazy about the ending.

This was an easy book to sink into with the mystery of it all keeping my interest. In the end, I did not love the way this all unfolded and was frustrated a lot with the characters.
