"Did you cry?"
"No. I didn't cry. I just kept thinking that when human beings get that way, they're no good for anything."
that quote alone was enough to get this read from zero stars up to TWO stars.

It's truly one of those books that make you ponder.
Yozo’s life was stressful. The constant wondering, the mask, the self harm—it was almost as if he was destined to die the way that he did with how alienated he is. It was painful, knowing that he did genuinely try at certain points to understand himself and his surroundings, but it just never went to where he wanted it to be. His spiral kept him from finding who he was and what he truly wanted to be, because even when he does the things he finds some joy in, that feeling never lasted long. He wasn't a perfect person, but you could tell that even he knew that, and he hated it.
It was a painful book, but one that seems more likely than people think.
