The sister's name changed from Arianna to Analisa, then back to Arianna in the next paragraph. Back to Analisa. I'm tempted to count the number of times it changes. Yes. Arianna. Ana. Arianna. Six times!
For some reason, the name Damon Doukakis struck my juvenile funny bone. I couldn't stop giggling while I said the name out loud. It's so much fun to say.
Other than that, this was quite simply a super read. Just the right amount of drama and saccharinity.

it took me a while to get into this book but once i did i was hooked. i loved how many romance novel tropes this book had

I heard about this book on the DBSA podcast and Sarah Wendell raved about it. I put it on my to-read list and started hunting for it at book sales since the library didn't have a copy. Of course I went to one of the smaller libraries in the area and they had added it between the last time I checked and now. I WAS looking for a Stephanie Laurens (yes I'm looking to try historicals) book but they couldn't find that and I was like, "I'll take this instead."
I'm glad I went to the library because this was an amazing story. First and foremost the hero's name is Damon. People who have talked to me about fanfiction and my 'ships' know I love Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries so the name is sort of special. Secondly I found this book so interesting I read it in two hours. I could not put it down for the life of me.
Polly Prince is the unofficial superhero of her father's ad company. When the company gets taken over suddenly she is made Damon Doukakis's apprentice (yes, I went there). Damon has the sense she is a lazy worker who is coasting through her father's business. He would be wrong but there we are.
The chemistry leaps off the page and I was hastily reading to get to the sex scene because it was bound to be hot. It was, for the record. Both of the characters begin to realize they have feelings for each other as they realize both have misjudged the other. Polly begins to understand why Damon is so protective of his sister and why he is so ruthless in business while Damon begins to realize Polly's worth and talents.
This is the perfect case of a book having characters with amazing chemistry and perfect tension between the characters.
Side-note: Apparently none of the editors noticed Damon saying his sister's name is Arianna and then in the next paragraph her name is Analise. The third paragraph goes back to Arianna. I spent about fifteen minutes trying to find out if the names were related (they aren't) or if Analise meant something different in another language (it doesn't). It was kind of annoying and just a bit jarring.

I really liked this book. I feel like Polly'a personality was a little all over the place but otherwise this was a great read. This business stuff and tension read very well.
