There's a lot to like here - the setting, the homoerotic undertones, the languid atmosphere, but something fell a little flat to me. The prose is overwrought at times, not sure if that's an issue of translation or of Sapienza's style. Still an enjoyable read.

Great summer book. A filmmaker from Rome befriends a wealthy woman who has retreated from her dramatic life to settle on the Italian coast. Very captivating portrait of the town of Positano before it was 'discovered' and overrun by tourists.
