"It seems to fill my head with ideas—only I don't exactly know what they are!"

A beautifully, nonsensical way to spend an afternoon. There is no way for me to separate everything I knew going into this story from the story itself. I honestly think reading the book only enhances the world and characters I know and love.

Quotable Quotations 🗣📢

"And if he left off dreaming about you, where do you suppose you'd be?"

"Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!"

The only reason that I gave this book four stars is because of its nonsense, you have to analyze it well so you can understand the needs of it. I'm not saying that it is not great, but the first book was better. What I understood from Through the Looking-glass is that there are sometimes when you'll be alone so you should be okay with loneliness. You will always meet people that will affect you negatively and make you feel bad but on the other hand there will always be a person who will make you feel better. Life is like a chess game so you are guided by an unseen hand that pushes you toward your goals and this is fate.

Interesting but quite disappointing after the first book. It just didn't really feel necessary anymore

What a wild and wacky and adventurous ride. I'm glad to have finally read this, after hearing about it most my life. I was very curious about the power dynamics, and felt it a fitting metaphor for growing up or being thrust into a different culture -- everything has rules and they don't necessarily make sense. (And, you can create your own reality, too, or at least try to)
