I received an ARC and I'm freely reviewing.

This was a great quick read. This story focuses on Lily, who we met in Zane's book, and Forest. They met through a pen pal setup and I agree with both of them on their cartoon choices. Haha. I love both characters and their fiesty attitudes. This is a cute story and I can't wait to see what is next for us.

Lily (h), a large animal veterinarian, and Forest (H) exchange letters while he’s on active military service. AS they communicate with one another Lily seems to have relegated Forest to the friends zone, even as his feelings for her have grown during the course of their letter writing. After an explosion ends his military service, Forest returns home and breaks off contact with Lily, thinking that if she didn’t want him before as more than a friend, then she won’t now that he has extensive scars. But curvy girl Lily isn’t ready to let Forest go and has no qualms about showing up on his doorstep. A sweet grumpy sunshine romantic quickie with plenty of heat.

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a freaking awesome pen-pal romance. I absolutely loved this story, it seems like Kat Baxter just knows how to top herself every single time. The story was shortish but still spanned over a few years and in the beginning it was primarily the letters exchanged between Lily and Forest. And I loved those letters, they expressed so much emotion from both characters and I really got to know them. Then they met and I cried. This just took me through so many emotions and I loved it. And I really can’t wait for Linc to get a story.

This book gave me all the feels! We learn about Lily in her twin sister Emmy’s book called Zane. Both lily and her sister Emmy are on the spectrum and find it difficult to make friends. Lily decides to take part in a pen-pal for soldiers and ends up writing with Forest. Their letters go back and forth for 2 years until forest comes back home. By lily keeps saying that they are friends, but forest wants more. The love story and connection between them is beautiful. I love seeing how Forest loves every one of Lily quirks too. So damn cute!

Cute!

I do love a good cute story. I love the pen pal angle, and their letters were cute. I appreciate ND and curvy characters and thought this story was well done.

Who doesn’t love a pen-pal romance? Lily decided to send a holiday card with a letter in it to those over seas, one of them being Forest. She’s chatty and funny and I just absolutely love her. Forest is drawn in right away from her letters, they write back and fourth for a long time, but he’s heart broken when she keeps saying she’s grateful for his friendship when he wants so much more. So he ends things, she doesn’t understand why, so she shows up at his house. Did I mention he didn’t know she was coming? Their banter is great as is their chemistry, definitely one of my favs of this series.

I loved this one so much! He was such a grump that made me chuckle every time he let his thoughts get away from him! And she was adorable - she was a veterinarian, and you got to see some fun animal interactions. And for those who are Crawford fans - Hayes (the best Crawford sibling) makes an appearance.
