I picked this up as part of my continuation of the series.
"Komi Can't Communicate, Vol. 7" continues to follow Komi as she tries to make 100 friends. In this special volume, it is not only Christmas, but also Komi's birthday!
This edition felt cozier than the previous volumes. The wintertime setting, the Christmas holiday, and Komi's birthday all made this volume feel warmer and very much full of love for Komi. I also smiled more in this volume than all of the previous.
This volume definitely made me excited to continue in the series, and I look forward to seeing what happens in volume 8!

Highlights
➽ This is a winter-themed volume and I loved it so much! There were so many nice moments, from Komi struggling to go gift shopping for her friends to them joining her on Christmas Eve for Komi's birthday! They pick out the perfect gift together after a fierce competition with each other and it was so sweet to see Komi struggling to react to so much kindness. Komi then writes everyone a heartfelt message expressing her gratitude for such wonderful friends 🥺
➽ I also loved the snowball fight and everyone's excitement for the first snowfall! Komi ends up in a team with the younger kids from the elementary school and is being very awkward about it. She's not good at the whole snowball fight but due to her friend's shenanigans, her team ends up winning anyway.
➽ During the new year Komi ends up visiting her extended family again and plays a hilarious game of Koi-Koi against her grandmother! They also visit the shrine where Komi ends up helping about as the 'Shrine Maiden' and running into one of her classmates. The volume ends with a bang, as Tadano's having a cold and accidentally contacts Komi. She comes to take care of him and ends up holding his hand, but gets super embarrassed when Najimi surprisingly shows up as well 👀

I’m really enjoying this slice-of-life series, and as someone with social anxiety myself, I can relate a lot of my high school experiences to Komi’s. Love the strong friendship elements in this series too.
