This volume focused on winter vacation. It had me laughing and the characters are just so darn cute (well most of them) Honestly I would've probably rated it a five if it weren't for 2 characters and 3 specific moments. Unnecesary boob fanservice during the snow ball fight, the panty comments at the mall from the stalker, and the whole "dog" situation.

In this volume, it is winter break for Komi and her friends. So most of the settings for the chapters in this volume take place outside of the high school which is usually the backdrop for the series. I like that in this volume we got to see the main characters interact and approach social situations in different settings outside of school life.

I picked this up as part of my continuation of the series.
"Komi Can't Communicate, Vol. 7" continues to follow Komi as she tries to make 100 friends. In this special volume, it is not only Christmas, but also Komi's birthday!
This edition felt cozier than the previous volumes. The wintertime setting, the Christmas holiday, and Komi's birthday all made this volume feel warmer and very much full of love for Komi. I also smiled more in this volume than all of the previous.
This volume definitely made me excited to continue in the series, and I look forward to seeing what happens in volume 8!

Lots of chances here for Hitohito and Shoko to be adorable together, which is one of my favorite things about this series.
I did not at all understand how the card game was played, so that part was lost on me.
Otherwise, I enjoyed watching Shoko hang out with her friends and seeing that dynamic continue to play out.
Not sure I could adequately describe how much I loved Shoko going over to take care of poor, sick Hitohito
My biggest gripe with this series is that I need Yamai to go away. She's always gross, and this volume is no exception.

Even though it's winter in this volume, I appreciated reading it and had a blast!
The same quirky gang get into the same quirky shenanigans, but it's still fun to see what everyone's doing and how Komi reacts to each situation.
Najimi was easily the funniest character in this volume. Her calling everyone for a shrine visit was absolute gold, I'm amazed nobody tried to kill her thanks to her poor timing. Can I just say, though, that I totally understand why she's so popular? I know the running gag of her being friends with everyone has been going on since the first volume, but I truly get why that's the case. She's a ton of fun and enthusiastic, but also knows when to put on the brakes and is respectful of other people's limits. She may not be the most complex character, but she's tons of fun!
Komi is as adorable as ever in this volume and her interactions with Tadano are adorable as well. I loved the final chapter, it was so damn sweet and pure! It was also nice seeing more of Katai's growing friendship with Tadano (and possibly more??). Oh, and the snowman chapter was great. I love manga chapters where there aren't any words, just gestures and pictures in dialogue bubbles. Weirdly specific, I know, but it's true.
I have no idea what to expect next, but that's kind of what I like about this series. It's so open in terms of plot structure that each volume can be about anything and it would still work. All I know is I'm looking forward to the next volume and whatever it has in store!
