I am suddenly obsessed with Babymouse, in all her pink-black-and-white splendor. Who CAN'T love a crazy-whiskered, klutzy, literary-daydreaming mouse who wants to be famous/get the gold medal/first chair/be a rock star AND eats lots of cupcakes?? Find me that person, if you can.

This was my first time reading a BabyMouse graphic novel. After reading it, I can say that I plan to read more BabyMouse series.

This one was cute and I loved how it referenced some Annie songs from the Annie musical and movie.

BabyMouse wanted to be in her school’s musical but she wasn’t cast as the lead, which was her goal. Through determination and her friend’s’ encouragement, she is able to participate in the musical.

Best Babymouse book, hands down. Proud to say I knew almost all of the musicals referenced in this book! It made me happy to read. And maybe I sang a little bit.

odes to Grease, Annie, and other beloved musicals with Babymouse's typical wit = a smash hit

Y'all know I love my Babymouse and this might be my favorite in the series so far. The school's putting on a musical and when dreamy British newcomer Henry encourages Babymouse to try out she can't help but show up at auditions. When she's given the part of Felicia's understudy, Babymouse is sure she'll never get on stage. With tons of musical references (from Phantom to West Side Story to Evita to Fiddler and more!), this is a surefire hit with any fan of musicals. But will kids get all the references? Even if they don't, Babymouse's theatrical debut is a definite crowd-pleaser.

cute...but kids in the target age range won't get many of the references to actual musicals.

I got a Musical A+ for knowing all the musical references in here! I'm am a musical theatre geek. I love musicals. This is my favorite Babymouse story as she is trying out for the school musical. I would have her problem of getting my left and right mixed up. All our characters are here and there is music. Babymouse can sing.

A great story for kids out there and anyone who likes the trials of babymouse. I am really enjoying these as they have grown on me.

I understood the musical references, but not well enough to be able to fit the tunes to the lyrics.
