Something different but pulls you in by going back in time. Can’t wait to read the second book. Which is something I love about maya hughes that I don’t have to wait and I can dive into bay and dares story!

This story is continued in book two. Maya is a genius I always devour her books and this was no exception. I hate I didn't know that it would extend to a second book so now I have a massive book hangover.

The Art of Falling for You was a bittersweet read.

While it was sweet to see them start falling for each other, it was hard to see the personal struggles they both held.

Dare is the popular football dude who wants to make something of himself and get out of town.

Bay is the nerd girl who lost her father but still let's her music back into her heart. It is what she is passionate about.

Dare and Bay had fun and cute banter, especially in the beginning. Bay is confused why someone like Dare would even be interested in talking to her.

A few things I didn't like :

- this book actually talks about their HIGH SCHOOL days. I was so confused. The book starts out after college, so imagine my surprise when I have to read about high school students. I was a bit dissappointed by that
- It also ends on a cliff hanger sooooo you might need to get hopping on that second book before you finish (although I've heard the second is also tragic and sad)

Maya Hughes has me on the edge of my seat with Bay and Dare in The Art of Falling For You! I was memorized with Maya’s storytelling of the relationship between the two main characters and how their past brings them to the present. I’m so excited for this trilogy and cannot wait for the next book!!

NADVAHWYWGEBE I THOUGHT THIS WAS A STAND-ALONE I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT ENDING
main thoughts:
-what dare did at the end… i have no idea how bay is going to forgive him or trust him again ngl
-the book was overall…okay?? it was fun but i feel like it was lacking ✨something✨. maybe it’s because i went in expecting na and it turned out to be ya lmao
- the characters were fine. they didn’t annoy me, but that’s about it.

”To see myself how she saw me as a one-time villain who’d transformed, although she fought it hard, fortified my resolve. I wouldn’t hurt her again.”
