Honestly, I have wanted this for such a long time and Susaline have blown me away with just how incredible it was. It has absolutely topped anything I had anticipated and made me long for more. I feel like a total addict, looking for my next fix of Solaria.

The Awakening originally was a tough read as you feel everything through Darcy and Tory's eyes, making you detest the heirs at this point. This boys POV will still leave a bad taste in your mouth but from the fact you still hate them whilst understanding their actions too.

Now, please excuse me whilst I reread this book in tandem with ZA Book 1 and then continue with my journey through Solaria as I genuinely can't get enough!

It was nice to hear the other side of the story from the boy’s perspective, but I felt the majority of the story was repeated almost verbatim of Book 1. I know this was a retelling, but I just expected to have more background and new scenery.

This gives an insight to why the boys behave the way they do and how they feel about it. It’s really heartbreaking.

*slight spoilers*

It was fun to go back to the beginning from the boys' perspectives! I was expecting more chapters from all the heirs, but this was primarily told from Darius and Lance's perspectives. Which is okay and makes sense, but I still wanted more from the others.

I had forgotten so many little details from the first book, so the memory jog was good. I definitely recommend reading this after the Ruthless Boys series and after Fated Throne. There are a lot of little Easter eggs that you may not understand otherwise, as well as reading back, knowing what we know now about these characters made the book/flashback to book 1 extra interesting.

And all I could think was... these guys are absolute morons for not realizing what their attraction to the twins meant. In the words of a friend... "LOVESICK IDIOTS" .
