What a cute book! Izumi is a Japanese American who learns that she is a princess! She gets in contact with her dad, the prince of Japan, and it all takes off from there. This was a fun time, I really liked this story and I can't wait for the sequel.

Such a cute read. If Princess Diaries (finding out you’re a princess and live with your mother) + What A Girl Wants (going to a foreign country to reunite with a long lost father who didn’t know about you) + Crazy Rich Asians (mother & father reuniting vibes and some crazy side family antics) all had a child, this would be that book.
I legit read this in a day and Izumi, Akio, Mariko, Hanako, Mak & the AGG are so enjoyable to read. Also need this in a screen version ASAP. Also need a sequel, ASAP!
10/10 for a cute, meaningful read.

Slow at a few points but overall a great read. Reminded me of when I was younger and reading the princess diaries. Would love to see this as a series!

Sweet story and I have a fondness for all things Japan, but this book really needed some editing.

It was a good book, I just felt that I was not in the target audience. Although if this book had come up when I was in middle school, I would have been obsessed with it.

like a 3.9 stars! i rounded up and i will write my review later. i zoomed through the book like izumi and i kind of like it’s corny but cute natures and how sensitively it is written. even though it’s rushed and it’s hard to believe izumi has grown so much in such a short period of time, i can recount my own experiences in college and can attest to the adaptive nature of humans. i love how well izumi speaks to me and the whole identify crisis. okay, i’ll write more tomorrow because i actually really liked this book even though middle got a little fuzzy for me.
