A great book. Well worth a read. I enjoyed the characters and themes, the flashbacks and play by play of the night. It made me feel a lot. The ending kind of disappointed me though, which is mostly why I couldn't rate it as high as Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

As always Taylor Jenkins Reid's books are such fast, complex and interesting reads. This one was my favorite so far since I really enjoyed the different dynamics between family members and I really felt for June
her becoming addicted to alcohol and her death were just devastating after seeing how much she worked to give her kids a great life.
This book deals with how abandonment can ruin a whole family essentially and it's so sad and so real. Overall I really enjoyed this story and I'm excited about Cassie soto's story
I hated Brandon he was awful I hope she gets rid of him in her book

Would have been 5/5 except for one part where the character names were written wrong and details got confused.

I sooooo love books set within a day. There's so much compact action and drama it makes everything just a bit more ridiculous. I would love to see this turned into a movie one day (it reminds me of Project X to a degree). After catching a few references to her other books I'm kind of disappointed I chose to pick up Malibu Rising first, no one told me they were interconnected 🥲 Its wonderful that a book can be so fun, include so many characters and debaucherous behavior, and still hold lots of meaningful character development. When we were introduced to Nina Riva I felt a connection in my SOUL. I so badly wanted to rate this a five, but somehow my is heart just is not into it.

Song:
  • Heatwaves - Glass Animals
  • Dancing On Quicksand - Bad Suns
  • the  last great american dynasty - Taylor swift
