Although I am enjoying the series, it does feel a bit forgetful. I hadn't read the first book very long ago but it took quite a bit to remember it.

Spoiled thoughts:
Spoiler
Alex and Seth's relationship progressed a little bit. Seth seems to have legitimate feelings for her but also is up to something. The seer told her to be wary of the one who needs her which I believe is Seth.

Alex and Aiden's relationship is a bit stalled out. I guess the argument could be made that Aiden has gone above and beyond but I really don't see that as progression.

Caleb dying was a bummer but we knew he was going to die. It is nice to see platonic male and female relationships.

The council wants her dead. I can't tell if Lucian legitimately cares for her or if he is playing a game. I do feel like Marcus does genuinely care for her.

only the second book in & I'm completely enthralled by this series. in this book we didn't see much of Aiden, but what we did see was just.. perfection. seth isn't as bad as I thought he was, this installment really gave the readers a chance to know more about him. I love them both, but I'm for forbidden Team Aiden lol. & Alex might be one of my favorite female characters in any book I've read. she's bad-ass, strong, free-willed & has pure intentions. (no pun intended lol) Needless to say, I need Deity. like now.

I was hoping that since I was sort of split down the middle on how I felt about Half-Blood, the previous book in the Covenant Series that I may possibly like PURE, but that was not the case.

One problem I am having with this series is when I am reading it is talking forever to read, it's what I would call, slow-paced and that really puts me off. Alex didn't really change for me. I still had the same problems that I did in Half-Blood. Alex is a heroine that frusterates me to no end. I still feel like she still has that same attitude I hate from the previous book. And I can't like a book where I don't like the heroine.

Aiden frusterated me even more in PURE. I didn't think that would be possible, but it was. I understand Aiden, I really do, but I wish he could've been more senstive. Maybe he could have done things differently, but maybe I just didn't connect with im either. As usual I loved Seth. I think he was the only thing going for me, but it wasn't enough to continue on with the Covenant Series.

And Let's see, there were probaly hundreds of other things I didn't like and it was the world of The Covenant. Half-Bloods being slaves and the Counel wanting it to be that way with all Half-Bloods. I think the second half of the book with the Counsel made me want to throw the books across the room.

I just have a big problem in books where some characters act like they are better than everyone else. A lot of books become like this, but it all depends on how it fits into the book for me and in this case it made me incrediable angry and unable to enjoy the book.

I know there are many fans of this series, so please do try PURE if you liked the first book. If you were a fan from the beginning you will probaly love it all the same. I just didn't love it.

I was a bit nervous to see what path this story chose to go down after the first book, and fortunately it more than succeeded. I am so addicted to this story (I never know I cared for greek mythology before??) and the characters!!!

I would put this book on the same level as the first book. It wasn't better than the first one because I don't feel like the tension or the war between daimons and other races ramps up at all. It wasn't worse either but once again I feel that the love triangle between Alex, Seth, and Aiden takes precedence over everything else in the story. I want the books to focus more on the prejudice between the halfs and the pures as well as the danger that the daimons presents.
I did appreciate that Alex changed and grew more in this book but it felt at times like the author did not devote enough time to her trials. We get a glimpse of Alex's reaction to having lost someone close to her in this book but then she goes right back to obsessing over her feelings for Aiden. I like Aiden but I wish that Alex would just get over him already because I'm sick of her pining over him. The amount of action in this book was the same although the plot needed work. I understand that this is a sequel but I feel like nothing was added to the story and everything just carried on from the first book. The only thing that happens is more halfs being changed and meeting more people that hate Alex.
