Going into this book, I had such high hopes because I loved Lyric so much in Luca. This book want bad but it wasn’t as great as Luca in my opinion. It took me soooo long to get through this book. There were times I wanted to DNF but I pushed through and honestly I’m glad I did. I don’t regret it and I had a good time. And Keanu has definitely made the book boyfriend list 😜

Okay this book had me frustrated a bit! Lyric as a FMC was SO aggravating and a bit immature. Like her decision making? I wasn’t understanding! However Keanu CARRIED! I loved their dynamic. The book overall was good for their tropes!

I enjoyed this book! I love the way Grey Huffington writes her men. Keanu was just as intriguing as Luca, I liked learning about him as a character. There were so many loveable characters throughout this book and I liked the fact that she was able to write the book without too much drama. The only thing that I wasn't fond of was the lack of communication skills that Keanu possessed and the fact that Lyric took no accountability throughout the book. I'm here for their happy ending and I can't wait to read about Laike.

ENG
How can you absolutely love the first book and then hate the second one?
My biggest problem was that these two were presented as soulmates and I feel like only thing they were was toxic af. They were more likeable as individuals but together it rubbed wrong.
(diversity: black characters)

This was so good! Keanu is just overwhelming in the best ways. I loved how he loved Lyric and how she loved them right back. The mutual pining was definitely strong. Their story was a beautiful one, though not always easy. I understood why Lyric was hesitant because she went through a very serious trauma (off page, but mentioned here and in Luca), but at the same time her fears/concerns seemed a little repetitive. I think what really would have helped me understand that more would have been actually seeing the therapy that she mentioned at one point or at least seeing her continue therapy. It felt like she said she went, but didn’t really learn from it. There was also a weird moment about between Keanu and his cousin that I side-eyed and seemed unnecessary, but overall a great read.

These two are so nasty!!! But I love it lol. Also, if cheating (no matter how brief) is an issue with you, be cautious going into this because they do get together while she’s technically entertaining another man. It didn’t bother me and I actually loved it because I’m messy (lol) but I know some people get upset about that.

CW: mentions of domestic violence, on-page miscarriage
