I received this ARC book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
OMG! The book was fantastic! A lot of the time the sequel isn't quite as good as the original, but this is the exception that breaks the rule!
The intrigue gets deeper and the stakes get higher in this amazing sequel. Tom has to face the executives of the sponsoring companies to get backing to become CAMCO.
The danger lines blur as Tom faces greater threats than ever before.
I loved it! It was by far one of the best sequels i've read. It holds itself against stagnation of characters and plot line. It continues from the first with not much time between. Characters grow and change as the plot line darkens and becomes even more complex.
I can't say enough of how good it was.
As it was an uncorrected proof, my friend (who read them before me and made me even more excited to read them) found a couple of typos, but I figure that most of them will be caught.
I can't wait for the next book. Need the next book now! Thank you, Ms. Kincaid, for an fabulous series. (But I am upset at what happened to the MC.)

Beyond the impossible.
So we pick up with Tom on a break from training and he's 15 now. This kid has some issues. He is into himself now and is quick to anger and hold a grudge....sounds like stuck up teenager. Tom as a character is not developing in a good. He just dosent quit with not listening to authority. His lack of having a solid figure in his life is the problem. I wouldn't call his Dad or Mom a presence.
Well the first book was good but I don't feel like finishing.

3.5 stars. I got a bit nervous as this started up. Tom wasn't at school, he was with his dad and it just had a different feel from where the last book left off. Happily though, Tom returned to school, with Vic and Yuri and his battles with Medusa.
A few twists and turns ... I do plan on continuing on with the next (final) book.
Audio edition again. Still love the accents!

Okay, here I am. I really enjoyed this book, simplemente disfruto de Tom y todo lo que hace y por lo que pasa, no sé si es el estilo de narración o los personajes (esto)pero me encanta leerlo, es fácil y me divierto y me hace sentir bastante feliz.
La vdd recordaba la mayoría de los sucesos y nada fue muy sorprendente al inicio pero de igual forma me encantó visitarlos de nuevo y volver a entender sus motivaciones y sentimientos en todas las cosas que suceden. Como siempre, lo que más me gusta son las relaciones que tienen, a decir vdd no tuvimos muchos momentos con Yaolan pero no pasa nada, de igual forma es bastante asombrosa.
Realmente me gustaría que los amigos de Tom supieran lo demás pero al mismo tiempo entiendo completamente que es necesario que Tom lo haga solo por el momento. I’m looking forward to certain interactions between Tom and Blackburn and Vik and Karl and Elliot in the next book.
Obvio Elliot me siguió fascinando y me encanta el hecho de que Tom evolucionó en su perspectiva de Elliot y cómo está relación se vuelve importante para el desarrollo personal of each other.
Wyatt comprendiendo más a Tom y mostrándole por primera vez que puede confiar en sus amigos con todas las cosas malas y que aún lo querrán es algo hermoso pero sé que aún necesita desarrollo.
Creo que podemos ver más de Vik en este libro pero aún necesito más con su relación con Tom. Necesito esa última conexión que se que viene
Yuri...creo que lo que me fascina de Yuri es su adoración por Wyatt y su compasión por sus amigos.
Blackburn. Ya pone más claro como considera a Wyatt y creo que para W es similar, ella nunca ha tenido mucho apoyo parental pero BB believes in her so much and he said it himself, she reminds him how it felt to be a father.
But I think so does Tom. Sé que en estos momentos Tom piensa que solo lo ve como un arma pero...honestamente creo que Blackburn comienza a ver a Tom diferente en este libro. Ve su miedo y lo conoce y ve su enojo y su pasión y lealtad y que tan indomitable es. Creo que Tom tiene sentimientos más complicados con él en este libro, pero su relación evoluciona bastante. Comienza con esta rabia y terror y pasa a simple desdén y enojo, pero termina con Tom dándose cuenta de lo terrible que Blackburn es pero también lo mucho que lo protegerá, Tom es su arma pero también Blackburn es el arma de Tom. Y lo que BB hace al final habla tanto de lo que Tom y Wyatt llegan a significar para el. It is a kind of redemption. He was responsable for the death of his children but also responsable for the live of Tom and Wyatt and even countless others.
That’s what a parent does, they forget their revenge, their hatred and focus on that hope on the future that are their children.
No cabe mencionar que me gusta la relación entre Tom y Yaolan. Ay, no sé, se complementan muy bien.
Uuu, también me gusto el hint con el pasado de Neil y Vangerov y Tom, claro. Me gustó el desarrollo de la relación con su papá y Tom haciéndole ver lo mal que hizo como padre en muchas ocasiones. La relación con su papá es tan esencial para lo que Tom es
