Disagreeable Tales by Léon Bloy

Really great stuff. Bloy is often a little too... erudite for my taste, but he has a delightfully dark sense of humor. And nothing is off the table: incest, murder, suicide, cuckoldry, occultism, sex work, etc.

I liked a great deal of the stories in this collection, but if I had to mention just my favorites they would be "Nobody's Perfect," "Suspicion," "Monsieur's Past," "The Lucky Bean," "The Silver Lining," and "The Telephone of Calypso."
