Listen to this but I think I would’ve enjoyed much more if I had read it physically

the amount of concentration it took to read this book: unmatched. but v enjoyable

(but guys i’m not kidding the laser focus i had to have…the amount of energy i expended to simply get to the next page…. every single sentence had layers of meaning; every word a double entendre…. the strain on my brain to learn and then unlearn the philosophical underpinnings and magical rules of this world….. this was less of a book than it was an exercise in thought)

Found the story a bit tired and one of those overdone “away at a magical society/school/library” themes. But it redeemed itself in the last 2 chapters with a twist.

Characters were pretentious (and not in the way they should be). The storyline off the bat seemed messy and off. I feel like the ideas/intent was all there but the execution was not the best.
