This wasn't my favorite... It was slow to build and then felt a bit too ... Easily tied into a bow. That said, I still enjoyed reading it.

This book can be divided into two stories; one on Jack and Cate, and one on the Blythe sisters.
The Blythe sister's story is captivating and you don't know where it will go next. It's essentially told in letters at the beginning of each chapter and was throughly enjoyable. Unfortunately, their story only makes up about 25% of the book.
The Jack and Cate story, making up the remaining 75% of the book, was boring, uninteresting and would have been pointless if not for the parts where Jack or Cate researched the Blythe sisters.
I would honestly recommend skipping most (if not all) of the Jack and Cate story.

There was so much more that could have been done before the ending. Sooo much more. I feel jipped and would have loved more of a conclusion with the Blythe sisters part of the story.

I love Kathleen Tessaro's storytelling and writing style. I didn't think I could love a book more than the Perfume Collector - but this might top it!

As usual, a lovely story by Tessaro. I liked this one particularly because it partly took place in the freewheeling years between WWI and WWII England. The theme of this book was adultery and the POV of the players involved. Despite this (which I'm not a HUGE fan of), it was well done. Little love, little mystery...good stuff, and a very fast read.

DNF. This is abysmal. The plot had such potential but what a poor execution!
The characters were unlikeable and the as others mentioned, vulgar. The crossover between the eras was sloppy. There is nothing keeping me reading; I simply don't care.

This book would have been wonderful f it had just been the tale of the sisters. I found myself phasing out during the, at times vulgar and disgusting, aspects of the "main" story. I hated the modern day characters, and unlike other readers, still didn't care at the end.

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I enjoyed the present time characters just as much as those from the past. This book was everything I was looking for - easy reading, captivating, a little bit of romance, a little bit of heartbreak and a touch is historics.
